And whooosh, both away teams and all the hostages were beamed up. Anyone with injuries was sent to sickbay! The Eventide looked pretty good too! Thanks to the combined efforts of the Moneans, Klingons, and Romulans.

Dezyim was transported right after downloading the data to the shard. “Consider it downloaded, sir.” He handed the shard back to Allan, trying to forget how he had almost dropped it in front of the entire team.

"Here she is, as good as new!" Yay, Eventide! Saith needed a very big nap after this, but that was a successful away mission in his eyes. OH SHIT! "Hey, I never got your name!" He beelined for his fellow cadet. "I'm Saith, by the way, Tactical- who are you??" :D

Seiyya sighed in relieved after being beamed out, doing a lil stretch and looking around. The Eventide looked pretty good! The surface people had certainly done a good job with her. “Now.. I need a drink. Anyone who wants to come with, drinks on me once we get back to 777.”

"Oh, hell yeah, thanks a lot," he took the shard and put it right back into his bag, and then was pretty focused on the Eventide. All put together! Whoa! He looked around for the nearest sign of an engineer that worked on the thing, probably, to give his compliments, when he saw Rai kissing it and started laughing.

Lt. Cdr. Mira Chalet | OPS BOT 03-Mar-25 02:30 AM
Mira took a sigh of relief seeing the new and improved Eventide. "I am happy to see you back as your old self, sir," Mira said to Rai. It was good to be back. Mira went over to Seiyya. "How are you holding up, lieutenant?"

Since the need for him to read and aim at targets was gone, Dezyim took his glasses off and folded them, replacing them on his uniform. He grinned at the cadet. “I’m Dezyim 5, engineering. Your team did well, I hope?”

“I’m quite alright, Commander Chalet. Though, swinging that chair around certainly was a workout, I’ll be feeling that later. Just very much in need of a shower and a drink; in that order. You?” She laughed. (edited)

The engineer who helped with the Eventide was a really chill Klingon woman who looked like she could crush a watermelon between her legs without a sweat, fantastic. She was standing behind the transporter console.

"I can't say I would need anything else but that as well," Mira chuckled back at Seiyya. "Myself? Well. I am thankfully unharmed, just sore from the combat as I'm sure we all are.. Things could have been much worse." She took a breath. "I noticed your... displeasure with the ones on the surface. I hope you are able to find peace knowing that you helped to save these hostages, and to stop the cruelty that the ones on the surface kept going."

Cdt. Saith tr'Dharvanek | TAC BOT 03-Mar-25 02:35 AM
"Oh, yeah," Saith, who had partly dried by now but was still pretty wet, nodded enthusiastically. "I got to double-wield phasers, it was so cool!! How did you guys do?? We should totally hang out, sometime, by the way, I don't see many other cadets around, and you seem super awesome, and—" Shut up— "yeah."

Lt. Allan Allen | ENG BOT 03-Mar-25 02:35 AM
Yeah, okay, Allan was definitely talking to this woman. And how else was he going to start the conversation other than complimenting the ship? "Absolutely beautiful," he said, forgetting that he'd missed the direct object of that sentence for a second before he added, "took a lot of work, I'm sure, but it's absolutely amazing."

Narrator BOT 03-Mar-25 02:37 AM
"Thank you, we worked hard on giving her the best treatment we could," The woman said to Allan with a smile. "The Moneans didn't help at all. They used eye power at best," She said with a frustrated grunt. "That's why we had to call the closest ally here, a Republic ship. I knew there was something slimey about those moist Moneans," She said, clearly knowing the Moneans were up to no good.

“Aye.. it got to me, I’ll say that. The Neiirrh venom thing got to me when I was trying to keep my wits about me. Seems wrong to have that be the thing that got under my skin when so many people were injured and killed.. but I’ve always had a soft spot for raptors. Whatever they had to do to harvest venom from such dangerous, aggressive raptors could not have been anything even halfway decent.” She said, stretching her arms out a bit.

Narrator BOT 03-Mar-25 02:40 AM
"Those were our Neirrhs," Mestral, who had been here the whole time said. "They were stolen and sold on the black market," They added.

Cdt. Dezyim 5 | ENG BOT 03-Mar-25 02:40 AM
Dezyim laughed, glad to talk to another cadet. “That does sound cool. We only solved puzzles, but I’m not particularly skilled with a phaser so that was fine with me. We should definitely…” he looked at Saith’s face intently, trying to judge his age. He failed. “…grab a drink sometime?”

“If any have survived this torture these bastards have put them though, I hope they are found swiftly and released back into your care.” She said to Mestral.

Lt. Cdr. Mira Chalet | OPS BOT 03-Mar-25 02:42 AM
In this moment, Mira nodded, taking in Seiyya's frustration. "It is a justifiable frustration," Mira said to both Seiyya and Mestral. "The Neiirrhs will no longer have to feel suffering for-- for something they couldn't control." Mira thought back to the time she was kidnapped... "They will no longer have to feel fear when they could not defend themselves. They can finally fly free and live long, happy, healthy lives."

"We are currently investigating their whereabouts," Mestral told Seiyya. "Thank you again for your work, the Republic is in your debt.*

"Yeah, God, I can't imagine all the paperwork that's gonna be involved with all that mess. We got some evidence and whatnot, but... I'm just glad I'm not gonna be the one drafting all the prosecutions and whatever else command is gonna do, I dunno," he laughed a little, hoping at least that another engineer would understand what he was trying to say. "Did anything come up while you were working on her that you needed to let us know about, or was it pretty smooth sailing once you got the Republic on board?"
Avatar
Cdt. Saith tr'Dharvanek | TAC BOT 03-Mar-25 02:46 AM
Saith lit up like a Christmas tree. "Yeah, that'd be really cool!" He patted his pockets and grabbed for his PADD, opening the notes function open to give Dezyim his comms code. "I'm gonna go replicate myself another uniform and dry off, but it was nice to meet you, Dezyim. Talk soon, okay?" With that, he was off, like a slightly damp red comet streaking across the sky.

She nodded. “We should get drinks after we arrive at 777, you and I. You seem like you have good stories to tell.” She said. Seiyya appreciated stories more than anything else, both being able to tell her own and to hear those of others. She nodded to Mestral. “It was only the right thing to do. And we are incredibly grateful for the Republic’s aid in repairing the Eventide.”

"I am not sure what sort of investigation will happen, but the KDF will not show mercy to those who take our citizens, even the internet trolls. They have families too," The KDF officer told Allan. "And everything was fine. It was a pretty straight forward repair. I would get her checked out at the base though, we did most major repairs so she can get home. The KDF will take our citizens back, the Romulans will escort you home in case anything happens through the wormhole," She explained to Allan, pointing to Mestral who was chatting with one of the other officers at the moment.

Mira nodded, although it was a sad nod. "Lieutenant, would you join me over here for a moment? I have a story to tell. Although not a good one. It is one that I think you should hear. One which I hope will allow you to see an inner strength within yourself so you may further find peace."

"The Klingons did most of the ground work, to be honest. They found all the pieces, we just kinda glued it all together," Mestral told Seiyya, pushing their long white hair behind their pointy lil ears.

Lt. Allan Allen | ENG BOT 03-Mar-25 02:52 AM
"Gotcha, yeah, we'll finetune her, no problems there, we're just - really, very appreciative of the repairs at all, it's - she means a lot to us, I guess," he said with a soft smile, and then looked over to Mestral when the woman pointed. "Cool, cool. You guys stay safe, yeah? Obviously, call us if you need anything, all that. We've got - we've got the antidote as well to the poison they used, if that'll be helpful at all - if nobody's given that to you guys already, I've got it."
Avatar
Narrator BOT 03-Mar-25 02:53 AM
"Poison? oh that sounds terrifying and thak you. We'll be sure to let you guys know. And keep an eye on the news, I have a feeling this is gonna be headlines coming up," The Klingon told Allan, very thankful he helped rescue the hostages!

She added, "Oh, and yes, I am amenable to drinks on the station when we return, to answer your question. I just figured this was rather important and could be instructive."

Lt. Allan Allen | ENG BOT 03-Mar-25 03:02 AM
"Oh, yeah, definitely - here, just have a copy in case nobody else's got it," he made a little copy of the files he had real quick onto another data rod and then handed it to the engineer, "easy enough to always have a backup, right? The news... man, yeah, I'll have to keep an eye on it. I hardly ever read it, so I'll probably just end up hearing about it from someone else right as it hits."

Once she was situated, Mira removed her visor from her face. Her eyes looked normal on the outside, but evidently, they did not function. "I lost my eyesight to something I could not control," Mira said. "A group of people that did not care about anything other than themselves. Who they are is a story for another day." After a breath, she continued. "I was vengeful. It was as if my life depended on making sure they never forgot what they did and would pay for it... but I couldn't. I had to command a whole operations division upon return to my ship. I had to remember that what I was doing was right, and not to let myself fall into the trap of anger leading to hate. Hate... can lead to suffering." After a silent moment, she spoke again. "I saw how your anger showed through in this mission. And it was justifiable, from how the ones on the surface orchestrated this whole horrid operation. What I am trying to say... don't let that anger define you. Don't let it consume you. Don't let it cloud you. Because ultimately you were doing something good. Something honorable for others. Hatred can twist the mind into something it is not." And she put her visor back on her head, covering her eyes. "It is a precautionary tale, as I have seen and witnessed this myself in the past."
Avatar
Lt. Seiyya t’Rhaikh | SEC BOT 03-Mar-25 03:13 AM
“Aye.. I see what you mean. Hate with no outlet only serves to harm you and others. I’ve lived with such anger before, years ago, before I joined Starfleet. It was not a pleasant time. I have gotten much better at venting it since. I’ll be alright after a drink and a while beating up the nearest punching bag. That’s how I’ve always decompressed.” She shrugged. “And you’re strong, too, for overcoming your own hatred.”

Lt. Cdr. Mira Chalet | OPS BOT 03-Mar-25 03:17 AM
Mira nodded with a gentle smile. "Thank you, that's kind of you to say, lieutenant," Mira said. "I noticed the signs of hatred's infancy dwelling within you during this mission. It was the least I could do to ensure you did not snap. Excuse my wording on that, but it is important." As she took a small step towards Seiyya. "But if you can find your peace... not even just decompress... something that can help you feel more connected to yourself... I believe it will serve you well. I am no counselor. But I am a concerned senior staff officer, and I would be remiss not to point this out. Maybe I can show you some methods that help me to find peace once we return to the station, if you're amenable?"
Avatar
Lt. Seiyya t’Rhaikh | SEC BOT 03-Mar-25 03:24 AM
She nodded, listening to Mira’s concerns. “Thank you for your concern, Sir, it is definitely warranted. I do believe I’ll be alright, however. For now, I just need to blow off some steam, and then perhaps book a session with my new counselor. I’m confident that I won’t have any need to personally make anyone pay for this. The KDF will certainly take care of this matter swiftly, and that is enough for me.” She said, and it was obvious she meant it. She was too old for childish things like grudges, or avoiding therapy.

Mira actively listened, and was honestly quite impressed with Seiyya's gameplan. "Understandable," Mira said. "Whatever route you choose. You have a firm supporter in myself, Lieutenant t'Rhaikh. I imagine Lieutenant Commander Sul is privileged to have a well-developed officer such as yourself in her ranks. And I will be wishing for peace for you. You deserve peace." Every word she said was in earnest, and said with a genuine smile on her face.
